I just wanted to take a moment to post an update on our current state and unfortunately I am going to have to be brief as I need to get back to work. In Late August, I lost my day job / “moneymaker” of almost 10 years. It came as an unexpected shock for sure; not just to me , but to my family and co-workers that supported me as well. And because of this and that this comes to me in this stage in my life, I have taken the last couple of weeks to rethink what I want to do with my remaining work years. I know this… I do not want to work in IT ever again. IT is a soulless job and did nothing, but sucked the life out of me for 10 years and only got worse with each year. I will be getting back to what I went to school for all those years ago and do some “art stuff” for a living.
So, what does that mean for me and Papalati Games? Well, I can’t go into specifics right now, but I do have some things lined up already and they are NOT related to Papalati Games. However, the positive about it all is that it will only make my art stronger and lead to better opportunities for me to put forth towards continuing to develop games at Papalati Games. I just need to get my personal life in order to be able to continue with this endeavor at the moment.
I am continuing to work on assets from our next Untitled Game to use towards furthering my development and portfolio work. In doing this, I will slowly be producing assets for the upcoming game, but full time development has ceased at this time.
Please stay tuned for more info.
Thank you to all of our supporters.
p.s. – Colin, our Master of the Code, is also going through some personal and professional changes as well which has pulled him from this world right now. However, I will leave that to him to discuss if he so chooses to in the future.
